The Presidium of the Dental Committee of the Lower Silesian Medical Council has expressed support for the position of the Polish Dental Society on the possibility of the provider providing paid health services outside the basket of guaranteed services during the hours reported in the schedule attached to the National Health Fund – informs the PTS.

Recall – a few days ago, the Polish Dental Society issued a special legal and medical position, in which it stresses that the patient should have the opportunity to receive additional health services (not reimbursed) during the visit, which is carried out by a doctor-dentist (provider) during the hours declared in the schedule reported to the National Health Fund, of course, for an additional fee. Now the position of the PTS was supported by the presidium of the Dental Committee of the Lower Silesian Medical Council. – In our opinion, this is a good start to a nationwide debate aimed at adjusting the rules of providing services in relation to current medical knowledge and practice and the needs of Our Patients – points out in the document signed by the medical. dent. The authors of the position remind that on the basis of Article 9 of the. Code of Medical Ethics „A doctor should carry out diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive procedures with due diligence, devoting the necessary time” while Article 12. points out that „the doctor should strive to practice his profession in conditions that do not reduce the quality of patient care”.
